On July 7, 2023, on the invitation of the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago (IL, USA), a delegation from the Department of Computer Science of the Lublin University of Technology in the persons of university professors: D.Sc, Ph.D. (Eng.) Jerzy Montusiewicz and Ph.D. (Eng.) Marek Miłosz met with the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, Mr. Paweł Zyzak, an employee of the consulate, Mr. Jan Sochaczewski, and Polish activists in the USA, Mr. Ian Pitczer and Daniel Pogorzelski.
The meeting took place in a very nice and at the same time working atmosphere and concerned 3D scanning of the cultural heritage of the Polish community in Chicago and the surrounding area. The team of the Department of Computer Science presented their achievements in the field of 3D scanning of cultural heritage and its dissemination in the digital world. The following portals were presented: silkroad3d.com, polskiedziedzictwo3d.eu and carpatia3d.com. Prospects for further joint activities were discussed.
