At the end of 2019, the Department of Computer Science obtained funding for two projects under various programs of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
These are projects of the International Academic Partnership program:
- 3D Digital Silk Road
and the KATAMARAN program:
- Mobile Application Development – Joint Master Studies in English
In total, the financing obtained exceeds PLN 1.7 million.
The aim of the “3D Digital Silk Road” project is to intensify the activities of the Department of Computer Science in the area of digitization of the cultural heritage of Central (Middle) Asia, in particular archaeological monuments and artifacts remaining after the Silk Road. It will also provide the opportunity for further joint research into 3D digitization techniques and sharing of results, including through the 3D Digital Silk Road portal (silkroad3D.com).
The aim of the “Mobile Application Development – Joint Master Studies in English” project is to prepare, launch and start recruiting for a master’s degree in Computer Science together with the National University of Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) leading to a double diploma.
