Three-dimensional archiving of archaeological excavations in Lublin at Świętoduska Street

In 2017 employees of the Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Computational 3D Technology “3D Lab” – dr Marcin Barszcz, dr inż. Krzysztof Dziedzic, dr inż. Jacek Kęsik and laboratory head dr hab. inż. Jerzy Montusiewicz, prof. LUT, repeatedly visited the archaeological site at ul. Świętoduska in Lublin. The archaeological company “Archee” from Lublin conducted archaeological excavations, discovering settlement from early medieval times up to the 17th century. Employees of “3D Lab” performed many in-situ scans using the Faro X330 laser scanner and Artec Eva and Artec Spider scanners working in structural light technology. Some scans of archaeological artifacts were performed at the company’s headquarters. More information about the course of excavations, the archaeological sites discovered, interpretations of artefacts found, as well as three-dimensional models prepared by employees of the Institute of Computer Science of the Lublin University of Technology can be found and watched in the film entitled “Secrets of the old market.
