The National Scientific Conference “EBM in practice” was held on May 31 – June 2, 2024, organized by the Medical University of Lublin and co-financed by the Minister of Education and Science under the Excellent Science II Program “Supporting patient safety by popularizing scientific evidence in the practice of medical professions” (https://konferencjaebm.umlub.pl/). The abbreviation EBM stands for Evidence-Based Medicine.
During the conference, many workshops were organized for its participants and guests (https://konferencjaebm.umlub.pl/imgs/warsztaty_program.pdf). During one of the workshops (number 9), the team of the Department of Computer Science (consisting of Prof. Dr. Marek Miłosz and Dr. Mariusz Dzieńkowski), with the support of Anna Sałamacha and Dr. Grzegorz Nowicki from the Medical University of Lublin, presented the results of the interdisciplinary project “Supporting education in type I diabetes in young people – T1DCoach mobile application” financed by NCBiR as part of the “Things are for people” programme (number: Rzeczy są dla ludzi/0062/2020-00).
Workshop participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the T1DCoach application, its operating instructions, as well as the possibilities and directions of its popularization.. After the workshop, there was a short discussion about possible directions of using the application and expanding its dissemination. In particular, there was a demand to develop T1DCoachan application for the iOS system.
