Signing of memoranda of understanding between Lublin University of Technology and Central Asian universities

On June 15, 2026, in the office of His Magnificence, Rector of Lublin University of Technology, Professor Zbigniew Pater, a ceremony was held to sign cooperation agreements between our university and three universities in Uzbekistan and one in Kyrgyzstan. The ceremony was attended by:

  • Professor Dilbar MUKHMEDOWA, Dean of the Faculty of Social Science, representing the National University of Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan),
  • Professor Eshchanov BAKHODIR, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, representing Chirchik State Pedagogical University (Uzbekistan),
  • Professor Utkir ABDULLAEV, Head of the Department of History at the Faculty of Socio-economic Sciences, representing URGENCH STATE UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER ABU RAYHAN BIRUNI (Uzbekistan),
  • Nella ISRAILOVA, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, representing KYRGYZ STATE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER I. RAZZAKOVA (Kyrgyzstan).
  • Rahim KAYUMOV – Director of the Scientific-Experimental Museum-Laboratory, Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov (Uzbekistan).

Also present at the ceremony were representatives of the Department of Computer Science: Professors Marek Miłosz and Jerzy Montusiewicz, who have been collaborating with universities and museum professionals in Central Asia for over 10 years in the field of 3D digitization of cultural heritage sites located along the ancient Silk Road. The signing of the agreement extends previously existing cooperation agreements and provides a solid organizational foundation for continuing and further developing joint research on archiving and sharing the tangible cultural heritage of objects from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
