On June 16, 2023, a meeting of employees of the Department of Computer Science with museologists and scientists from Uzbekistan and India was held at the Department of Computer Science. The meeting concerned interdisciplinary research in the field of cultural heritage with emphasis on the use of modern IT technologies (both hardware and software).
The meeting was attended by prof. Dilbar Mukhamedowa from the National University of Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), prof. Utkir Abdullayev from Urgench State University (Urgench, Uzbekistan). Rahim Kayumov and Dr. Muhammadikhon Buzrukov from the Samarkand State University (Samarkand, Uzbekistan) and prof. Thirumalini Selvaraj from Vellore Institute of Technology (Vallore, India). On behalf of the Department of Computer Science, the meeting was attended by prof. Jerzy Montusiewicz and Marek Miłosz and Jerzy Warakomski.
During the meeting, the achievements of individual teams (from Uzbekistan, India and Poland) were presented in the field of IT applications in cultural heritage, with particular emphasis on its documentation and protection. The implemented projects in this area were presented and the possibilities of cooperation were discussed.
