II International Seminar in Bioinformatics 2019. Data analysis

On 5th of December 2019 at the Department of Computer Science an international seminar “II International Seminar in Bioinformatics 2019. Data analysis” was organised. It concerned the analysis of various bioinformatics data. The seminar was held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the Lublin University of Technology, the President of the Lublin Branch of the Polish Information Processing Society and Engineering and Technical Sciences Commission of Lublin Branch Polish Academy of Sciences.

The seminar was opened by Professor Anna Halicka, the Deputy Rector for Cooperation with Social and Business Environment  of the Lublin University of Technology, Professor Marzenna Dudzińska, the Deputy Rector for Scientific Affairs of the Lublin University of Technology, who presented the university, Professor Henryka Danuta Stryczewska, the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the Lublin University of Technology, and Professor Dariusz Czerwiński, the Head of the Department of Computer Science. The first part of the seminar took place in the Laboratory of Motion Analysis and Interface Ergonomics of the Department of Computer Science. The elements of the Vicon motion capture system and the principles of its operation were presented, as well as the preparation the session and the recording of the participant movements.

Over 80 people from polish and foreign research centres attended the seminar. Scientists from the Institute of Rural Haelth in Lublin, the Medical University of Lublin and employees of the Department of Computer Science of the Lublin University of Technology were participated in the seminar. Numerously foreign scientists from National University of Uzbekistan, Taszkient, Uzbekistan and from Japan: University of the Ryukyus, Kumamoto University, Sojo University took part in the seminar. 23 scientific presentations on broadly defined medical data analysis were delivered. The seminar was an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience between academics in the field of IT and medicine from Poland and abroad.
