On 14 May 2026, an open lecture and panel discussion entitled “Accessibility and Usability of IT Systems as a Condition for the Success of Digital Transformation” were held in the Conference Hall of the Lublin Scientific Society as part of the Visiting Professors in Lublin program. The event had a popular science character and attracted a large audience interested in the accessibility and usability of IT systems.
The special guest and lecturer at the event was Professor Sergio Luján-Mora from Spain, who specializes, among other areas, in the accessibility and usability of websites, Business Intelligence, data warehouse design, and applications of artificial intelligence in human–computer interaction. The guest was introduced by the project coordinator, Dr Eng. Małgorzata Plechawska-Wójcik.
Following the lecture, a panel discussion devoted to the challenges of designing accessible and usable IT systems took place and was moderated by MSc Eng. Karol Łazaruk. The discussion involved representatives of the academic community, secondary school students accompanied by their teachers, public administration representatives, and members of the IT sector. Among the guests were also representatives of the Lublin City Office and staff members of the Department of Computer Science at Lublin University of Technology.
The event attracted significant interest among secondary school students and university students, providing an opportunity for the exchange of experiences, integration of the academic, administrative, and business communities, and discussion on the importance of digital accessibility in the process of digital transformation.
In addition to the project coordinator, the following staff members of the Department of Computer Science were involved in organizing the event: Dr Eng. Marek Miłosz, Associate Professor, Dr Mariusz Dzieńkowski, MSc Eng. Karol Łazaruk, and MSc Eng. Piotr Tokarski.
